The catering industry can open again! At least almost the entire catering industry because night bars, clubs and discotheques will unfortunately remain closed for the time being. After more than two years of catering lockdowns and restrictive measures, it again feels like a kind of liberation for both entrepreneur and guest. Drinks and ingredients are purchased, the furniture gets an extra cleaning and teams come together for a final consultation until the door can finally be unlocked.

Lockdown on lockdown
The hospitality industry has had a hard time and is one of the hardest hit sectors by corona. Support measures have only partially alleviated the suffering, but have not fully covered it. That means as much as being able to pay part of your fixed costs and (fortunately) receive wage support to keep your employees. The cost of the closed case? these are often paid from savings (for the lucky ones), loans, tax deferrals and sometimes even by increasing mortgages or selling their own home. Every hospitality entrepreneur has his own story, but the entrepreneurial spirit remains happy. Reopening is therefore also a dire necessity for many from an economic point of view and the 'corona costs' will reverberate in the sector for years to come.

For the guests
Catering the hospitality sector, the place where you enjoy a snack and a drink, the place to relax extensively during an overnight stay, the place where you enjoy a good conversation while sitting at the bar, where you people-watch and sip a nice glass of wine on the terrace or where you can let loose until the late hours in the club or pub. All that was barely there for two whole years, except for a few pinpricks. Open briefly then close again. Close at 00:00, 22:00, 19:00 then full again. Mouth caps riot on the terrace and near the toilet, limited access, 1,5 meters, fewer tables, mandatory takeaway and delivery, beer packages, vouchers, crowdfunding and so on a long long list of things…. Things that have little to do with the concept of hospitality, but were born out of sheer necessity, because there is only one thing we want and that is to receive our guests again!

We are ready, will you help?
