About The Market Hotel
The Market hotel has 123 rooms, spread over six floors. We offer 7 different room types for our guests, so there is something for everyone! On the ground floor we have a restaurant with 250 seats and two terraces. One terrace on the Grote Markt with 300 seats and one terrace on the Nieuwe Markt with approximately 50 seats. Due to the favorable location of our terrace on the East wall, you can enjoy the sun here for the longest time. The theme of our restaurant is old Dutch with a new look. Regarding the menu: Accessible is the new keyword. No fine-dining cuisine, but good food for everyone with a Dutch touch.

As Breakfast Shift Leader, you are the first point of contact for the breakfast team and our guests. You maintain an overview, manage colleagues, and ensure that every guest can enjoy a relaxed and delicious start to the day.

A morning as Breakfast Shift Leader with us:

You'll start early, around 06:00 AM, and ensure the breakfast buffet is in tip-top condition before the first guests arrive. You'll coordinate the team, assign tasks, and maintain the quality and hospitality for which The Market Hotel is renowned.

The first guests arrive, and you greet them warmly: "Good morning! How did you sleep?" During breakfast, you keep things organized: you help out where needed, motivate the team, and pay attention to detail, from a well-stocked buffet to a guest who deserves a little extra attention. You might hear someone is in Groningen for the first time or has something to celebrate; in that case, you'll make sure their morning gets that little bit extra special.

In addition to breakfast, you also oversee meetings and the accompanying sheets: you ensure that everything is ready on time, that coffee and snacks are provided, and that the meeting rooms look presentable.

After breakfast, you'll help the team tidy up the restaurant and restock the buffet. You'll ensure everything is ready for the next busy morning shift at the hotel.
