Breakfast Supervisor

At The Market Hotel Groningen, every morning starts with a smile, and you're responsible for ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. As Breakfast Supervisor, you're the first point of contact for the breakfast team and our guests. You'll oversee the process, manage colleagues, and ensure every guest enjoys a relaxing and delicious start to their day.

A morning as Breakfast Supervisor with us:

You'll start early, around 06:00 AM, and ensure the breakfast buffet is in tip-top condition before the first guests arrive. You'll coordinate the team, assign tasks, and maintain the quality and hospitality for which The Market Hotel is renowned.

The first guests arrive, and you greet them warmly: "Good morning! How did you sleep?" During breakfast, you keep things organized: you help out where needed, motivate the team, and pay attention to detail, from a well-stocked buffet to a guest who deserves a little extra attention. You might hear someone is in Groningen for the first time or has something to celebrate; in that case, you'll make sure their morning gets that little bit extra special.

In addition to breakfast, you also oversee meetings and the accompanying sheets: you ensure that everything is ready on time, that coffee and snacks are provided, and that the meeting rooms look presentable.

After breakfast, you'll help the team tidy up the restaurant and restock the buffet. You'll ensure everything is ready for the next busy morning shift at the hotel.

Afterwards, you ensure that the restaurant and buffet are neatly closed and you give a short report to the F&B Manager about the morning.

What makes you our ideal Breakfast Supervisor?

• You have experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in breakfast or F&B.
• You are a real morning person and get energy from a well-organized start to the day.
• You can coach and motivate colleagues with a smile.
• You are hospitable, presentable and always maintain an overview.
• You speak fluent Dutch and have a good command of English.
• You are available for at least 30,4 hours per week (4 days).
• You live in or near Groningen, so that you can start on time.

About The Market Hotel and Café Willem Albert

The hotel houses Café Willem Albert. Willem Albert Scholten (1819-1892) is considered the world's first agricultural industrialist. He founded some 24 factories, both domestically and internationally, producing potato flour, potato malt wine, strawboard, sugar, and peat moss. Scholten was also co-director and major shareholder of the Netherlands-American Steamship Company (NASM), now known as the Holland America Line. His house stood on the site where the Market Hotel now stands. In the kitchen of the Willem Albert Café, we serve traditional Dutch dishes with a modern twist.
