Herberg de Gouden Karper is located on the sunny village square (Boogplein) of picturesque Winsum and is one of the oldest inns in the Netherlands. We were able to take over this business in January 2020 and that fills us with pride. It is claimed that the building dates from 1570, but complete certainty about the correctness of this claim cannot be obtained. If it is correct, then the Golden Carp has been around for more than 450 years!

It still has many original elements on the inside and outside of the building. Our Herberg is beautifully furnished and has an attractive authentic café area, a stylish upstairs room, a beautiful upstairs room with a bar and a sun-drenched terrace.
