Job description:What does the job involve?
As Bistro Landing Shift Leader, you'll be the face of our service team and the link between the team and management. You'll work both as a server and behind the bar, serving as the first point of contact for staff during your shift. With your infectious energy, you'll ensure everything runs smoothly and our guests have an unforgettable experience. In the summer, you'll often work outside on our lovely terrace!
You'll be responsible for opening and closing the bistro, coordinating related tasks, and supervising your colleagues. Along with the kitchen manager, you'll ensure quality and hospitality. You'll actively participate on the floor, keep an eye on things on busy days, and step in when needed.
You'll also welcome our guests as a true host/hostess. You'll determine the most efficient table layout using our online reservation system, We Reserve. Whether it's a spontaneous lunch or a large group with special requests, you'll manage everything smoothly. On the floor, you'll be the point of contact for our guests.
You'll also be involved in organizing social evenings, such as pizza or BBQ nights, which are the highlights of many guests' stays. You'll also be responsible for placing orders and ensuring the cash balance is properly settled at the end of the day.
Your responsibilities:
Opening and closing the bistro according to our start-up and closing lists.
Manage and supervise 1 to 6 on-call employees during your shift
Acting as a buddy for new colleagues
Manage reservations and seat guests efficiently
Welcome guests, advise them on dishes and drinks, and take orders
Coordinating and carrying out cleaning activities
Informing and motivating your team about changing dishes and special features
Manage group bookings
Coordinating events such as pizza or BBQ nights
Placing orders with regular suppliers
Ensuring correct digital cash flow reporting.
What are you bringing?
At least 1 year of experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry.
You are available on weekends and during all (primary) school holidays.
A passion for coffee, food and drinks, with attention to vegan options.
Experience in the recreational sector is an advantage.
A talent for writing attractive chalkboard signs is a plus.
Good command of the Dutch language
