The Stadsschouwburg is one of the most important theater stages in Groningen. The building dates from 1883 and was designed by Frederik Willen van Gendt and Hugo Pieter Vogel. The main hall has a classic layout with three rows of balconies one above the other. The programming of the Stadsschouwburg is very broad and diverse. Music, singing and drama performed by professionals or up-and-coming young talent. They all find their place in the Stadsschouwburg.
