The Dogs Bollocks. A pub based on Irish and English styles, on the corner of the Oude Boteringestraat in Stad. A building that has been home to catering for decades. Not always very noticeable. Because of the elevation, you quickly walk past it. Yet many people know how to find it.
Burger
The pub focuses mainly on burgers, but also on specialty beers, there is a fairly extensive beer menu.

The burgers come in all shapes and sizes, says manager Dennis Schepel. 'That starts with the classicos, as we call them: with cheese, tomato, onion, that sort of thing. Sometimes the burgers come with a foreign twist. Like the Italian burger, for example, which is served on a focaccia and with Italian cheese. The Mexican burger is spicy with a salsa and jalapeno peppers. All sorts of themes are reflected in the burgers. In addition, all burgers can also be ordered in a vegetarian version.'

Schepel continues: 'We also have a number of meat dishes and a nice snack menu with chicken wings, very tasty nachos and a charcuterie board with all sorts of things. But mainly burgers are ordered.'
Sports bar
'We are also a sports bar and all Champions League matches can be seen here', Schepel adds. 'Several days a week, several screens are on here and we show all matches that are even slightly relevant'.

'It's definitely not a men's bar', says Dennis. 'That's the nice thing about this place, it's a real mix of young and old. We're close to the university so a lot of students come here. A lot of English people too, coincidentally, and seniors or boys and girls of about 18 who come to drink a nice beer and watch a nice game of football. All sorts of things. Of course, on some nights, when certain matches are on, we have a few more men than women, but that's logical.'
A real pub
The Dogs Bollocks is basically a pub where you can also eat. The kitchen is open until 22.00:XNUMX but on Fridays and Saturdays it is often still lively. Then the atmosphere changes from restaurant to pub.

The beer menu is something they try to distinguish themselves with. 'We really based the menu on Irish and English styles. For example, we are one of the few in the city of Groningen to serve Irish Guinness, apple cider and Irish wet ale, O'Hara's, you hardly see that anywhere else.' In addition, the beer menu is also really made in such a way that there is something for everyone. 'There are also a few fruit beers on it that are more popular with women. We have apple cider on tap, and that is really going very well. In addition, there are some cocktails such as aperol spritz and limoncello spritz.'

Under the café is another large space with a bar that can be rented for parties and events. The perfect place for a graduation party or bachelor party. There is also a beer garden that is open when the weather is nice.
The Dogs Bollocks is open every day of the year, except Christmas and New Year.
