MWith one week to go until the partial reopening of the catering industry, these are exciting times for catering entrepreneurs, staff and their guests. Terraces are being rebuilt, companies rearranged and systems started up, all according to the new 1,5 meter guidelines. A lot has changed for the catering industry in Groningen in recent months and the question is how guests will experience this from Monday 1 June.
Open with restrictions
Catering companies are allowed to open both indoors and outdoors on June 1 from 12 noon, but special rules apply. Make sure everyone can keep 1,5 meters away from each other. This applies both inside and outside the catering facility and applies to employees, guests, but also collectors, deliverers and suppliers. In addition, you can only sit on a terrace and not stand. At the entrance to a catering business or terrace, a short check-up takes place before guests are allowed to enter or sit on a terrace and after each visit everything must be cleaned extra thoroughly for the next guests.
Reservations for the pub and food with a time lock
The corona regulations for the catering industry obviously require a lot of effort and creativity from entrepreneurs towards their guests. The hospitality landscape is changing drastically and the time of spontaneous visits seems to be over for a while. Reservations will become the 'new normal', also for cafes. In addition, most restaurants introduce a time slot for food, something that was already common with ''all you can eat'' concepts.
After 2,5 months of closure, the doors are slowly opening again and everyone is yearning for a new start.
