On Thursday, January 30, 2025, Prinsenhof Groningen received the prestigious five-star classification. As the first hotel in the province of Groningen to receive this high recognition, it confirms its status as a leading destination for luxury, hospitality and quality. The classification was awarded by Hotelsterren, an organisation that manages the official European quality mark for hotels. This quality mark, based on a four-yearly assessment, is supported in the Netherlands by Koninklijke Horeca Nederland.
The five-star classification was achieved through an extensive assessment of more than 200 objective criteria. The quality of the service, the facilities, and the unique experience that the hotel offers were considered. The historical ambiance of Prinsenhof, combined with modern comfort, played an important role in achieving this classification. The monumental building from the 15th century, in the heart of Groningen, offers a unique atmosphere that enchants visitors time and time again.
