Patrick Beijk can call himself the Most Striking Horeca entrepreneur in the province of Groningen this year and next year. The entrepreneur from the city of Groningen distinguishes himself with, among other things, his catering companies Mr. Mofongo en The Dog's Bollocks and also shows striking and challenging initiatives for new catering concepts. Patrick Beijk heard the election on Monday evening during a Dinner show in Brouwhotel Parkzicht in Veendam.

Nominees
The jury selected Patrick Beijk from four entrepreneurs who were nominated for the prestigious prize of Koninklijke Horeca Nederland. The first nominee was Jelle Bos from Beleef Lauwersoog with, among others, the catering company Het Booze Wijf and a number of interesting concepts to entice guests to come to Lauwersoog. Also nominated was André Dokter of the steakhouse of the same name in Briltil and a second establishment under the name Het Sister of André Doctor in the center of Groningen.
The fourth contestant was Brewery Martinus, the still young company of the Swierstra family that has built up great brand awareness and appreciation in a short time. This year's jury consisted of Egbert Brinks, manager of the NH Hotels Groningen and Hotel De Ville and board member of Koninklijke Horeca Nederland, Groningen region, Marco Agema, winner of the striking prize in 2016/2017, Albert Kuil of grand café Borg Nienoord, Restaria South, Leek Sports Center and board member of Koninklijke Horeca Nederland. The fourth jury member was Menno Hoexum, a former journalist for the Dagblad van het Noorden.
Most Striking Hospitality Entrepreneur
Koninklijke Horeca Nederland organizes the election of the Most Outstanding Horeca Entrepreneur every two years. The prize is for innovative catering entrepreneurs who inspire other entrepreneurs. In this way, Koninklijke Horeca Nederland stimulates innovation among its members. The winners of the fourteen regions in which the elections will be held will meet at the beginning of January 2019 when the Most Outstanding Horeca Entrepreneur in the Netherlands is chosen.
