These chefs will compete against each other on Saturday 24 June during the cooking competition Koken met de Markt on the Vismarkt in Groningen. Aren't you there? no point! Cooking with the Market
The 'Cooking with the Market' competition will consist of three rounds in which two professional chefs cook against each other and a final in which the two chefs with the most points compete against each other for the coveted title of Best Chef in the Market and a 'golden ticket' for Ready Cook.
During 'Cooking with the market' cooks are challenged to prepare a meal with products from the Vismarkt, in combination with products from our partner Bidfood.
Each round will consist of a red team (cook 1) and a green team (cook 2). Within 30 minutes, the teams with a red or green 'Klaar Af Kook' shopping bag must buy products at the best and most beautiful market in the Netherlands, the Groninger Vismarkt. Each team has a budget of €20 at their disposal to create a unique dish and present it to the jury and visitors' table.
Each team has 30 minutes to purchase the products on the market. When all products have been purchased, they cook for 30 minutes using induction plates and a shared oven. After a total of 60 minutes, the meals will be served in front of a professional jury and a visitors table. The jury will judge the meal according to the same criteria as 'Klaar Af Kook' and our presenter will ask four people from the audience to taste the meals as well.

The composition of the dishes prepared by the participating chefs that day will be uploaded to our website immediately after serving to the jury and public table. In this way every visitor of 'Groningen day' download the recipe list on his phone and buy the products directly at the Vismarkt. The participating chefs will indicate where these products were bought on the market and how they can be used in the dishes.
