An online meeting about the future of the city of Groningen hospitality industry is on the agenda on Monday 5 July. The reason is the concept vision 'Room for Retail – a new vision for retail and hospitality', which the Municipal Executive released on Thursday, July 1.
What can you expect
Led by presenter Wilbert van de Kamp (known from Local Kilo Shifting) and organizer George van Berkel (eg Horecagroningen.nl) a table discussion will take place about the vision and future of the city of Groningen hospitality industry with various dinner guests. The following themes are discussed; Future of the night catering, Day catering, Delivery economy. You can join the discussion and submit your questions or comments via the chat function.
Purpose of the conversation
Our guests will discuss the above themes together and give their vision. There is also the possibility as an (online) viewer to join the discussion via the chat function on this page and to submit your questions or comments. The purpose of the meeting is: To learn about the new vision 'Space for Retail – future of retail trade and catering, Municipality of Groningen, updating inner-city vision'. and the opportunity to provide feedback and ideas for this before the vision is finalized in November.

The city of Groningen has been nationally known for years for its vibrant catering life that goes on almost 24 hours a day. Visitors to the Groningen city center are mostly townspeople, students, inhabitants of the provinces, day trippers and (especially) German tourists.
The catering industry in Groningen is versatile and dynamic and consists of a varied range of traditional companies, chains, shop/catering combinations and kitchens and has been growing for years.
