For the tenth year in a row, catering professionals could enjoy a day full of catering experience on Monday, October XNUMX, at the Horeca Xperience in the Martinikerk Groningen. The event, which started as a Groningen get-together at the time, has now grown into a well-attended networking event for the North. Street food, cocktails, butcher's craft, breweries, wine tasting, robot frying and of course water and energy-saving catering equipment. Visitors could enjoy themselves until the late hours. Exciting professional competitions
On the Ready Cook In the square in the nave of the church, cooks entered into a 'cooking battle' with each other for the title Best cook Northern Netherlands 2022/2023 with a fantastic prize package. Under the watchful eye of the renowned professional jury, tensions ran high at the presence of many courts. Cooks who managed to reach the final then had to work with a black box full of ingredients that depended entirely on ingenuity and creativity. To her own surprise, Chef Petra Rueva from Grain Silo Food & Drink took first place and took the title.

The art of tapping
The choir of the church was the setting for the tap competitions and soon after opening was filled with enthusiastic bartenders from Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe and their support. In exciting tapping rounds, the entire process from rinsing glass to serving draft and specialty beer was watched under the watchful eye of the jury. To loud cheers, the professionally tapped glasses then ended up on the jury table for a thorough examination among the many catering teams present.
