After a successful first edition in 2014, the fourth edition of the MultiCulinair Food Festival in Groningen will take place on Saturday 3, Sunday 4 and Monday 5 May.
During the Whitsun weekend you can enjoy an unprecedented culinary spectacle for young and old where a wide selection of food trucks and street food chefs present their cuisine. The cozy Bernoulliplein will be transformed into a cozy and accessible open-air restaurant with food, drinks, live music and a children's program.
The MultiCulinair Food Festival is the culinary and cultural food festival in Groningen and the surrounding area and aims to give lovers of good food a low-threshold taste of how rich and diverse Dutch culinary culture is. The visitor can enjoy different and surprising dishes from all parts of the world for reasonable prices. Greek, Korean, Indian, German and French is a small selection of the cuisines presented.
Enjoy a good glass of wine while the DJs and bands create a cozy atmosphere. Fun and educational workshops are given every day for the youngest visitors to the event and there is of course a bouncy castle.
European Street Food Awards
European Street Food Awards – preliminary round in Groningen!
The European Street Food Awards has sought the collaboration with Multiculinair Festival to represent the collaboration in the Netherlands. During a guest appearance at the European street food congress in Dortmund, they stood out thanks to their vision on the phenomenon of food festivals. Organizers and food truckers from all over Europe were present. It is an honor that Richard Johnson, an award-winning writer for the Guardian, organizer of the British Street Food awards and the European Street Food Awards, organized for the first time this year, has personally asked Multiculinair to host the Dutch version. The beautiful city of Groningen will be included in a list with cities such as London, Barcelona, Paris and Milan, where preliminary rounds will also take place. No Amsterdam or Rotterdam, but just Groningen!
During the Multiculinair Food Festival, visitors will be able to vote for their favorite food truck for 3 days. The public winner and can go on to the final in Berlin free of charge to compete for the title: #1 European Food Truck. The final will be held in Berlin on September 30 and October 1, after which the winner will be crowned No. 1 food truck in Europe and will receive exposure in culinary magazines and various media channels from all participating countries. The festival will again take place on the Bernoulliplein in Groningen and is free every day.
