The Municipality of Groningen may want to classify erotic parties under the prostitution policy and thus tighten up the regulations. This leads to discussion among the organizers of these meetings.
Dagblad van het Noorden reports that organizers of erotic parties are resisting. One of the initiators of KinkFaktory, Leon de Koning, wants to organize the night experience in Groningen for the fourth time on 18 June. KinkFactory is known as the first fetish party in the north of the Netherlands and now continues as an erotic party in a unique industrial location which is being transformed into a 'playing field of the night person'. Previously the parties were held in EMG Faktors, but due to the fire at the end of 2015, the Filthy Shades event will now take place in club Paradigm.
The King wrote to the municipality to see whether his party is proceeding according to the established rules, the response to this was unexpected. The party used to only require an event permit, but now the organizer will have to apply for a prostitution permit. The Municipality of Groningen may want to classify the parties under the prostitution policy and thereby include extra rules about hygiene and minimum age within the policy. Because De Koning's party is based on volunteers and a small budget, he cannot afford the amount of €1100 for the permit. Moreover, he does not want to be classified as prostitution with his party, "We keep ourselves far from that."
The discussion came up yesterday during a debate in the town hall about new prostitution rules in Groningen.
