It looks like a “head” from the Privé; or the announcement by Evert Sankrediets himself during the early edition of Shownieuws: “Pecorino en Pecorino go together". Well that's how it feels to me too because there are few people who tasted this dream couple but I hope that will change soon.
Anyone looking for characteristic quality in the Italian Abruzzo will soon find a small group of passionate small wine companies. One of these is the young Azienda Collefrisio, near the town of Frisa, south-east of Pescara. With a small occupation, around 35 hectares of biologically processed vineyards make excellent wines that are among the very best in the region. Striking is the “PecorinoTerre di Chieti: an autochthonous Italian grape variety that occurs almost exclusively in the Abruzzo. What an explosion of taste in this white wine: full-bodied, complex and with nuances of ripe apricots, almond and oak. The full, thick taste is fragrant, intense and has a long finish. And indeed with the Italian sheep cheese “Pecorino” of the same name – very strong in taste – this is a novelty to enjoy……
