And yes, there it was again…on the radio: Flappie van Youp van 't Hek. For me it's always a message like: Sinterklaas is back in Spain and Christmas is fast approaching.
It seems as if there are no more days after December 31 (and perhaps already December 21, 2012)….. we almost run and trip over our own legs, and in January we think why?
With the sound of Youp's Flappie, the Christmas menus are flying around us and my mouth is regularly watering. The oven at 180 degrees and “flappie” is almost ready; waiting in the wine cellar for the interplay of flavors: Domaine du Vissoux Fleurie Poncie 2011† Martine and Pierre-Marie Chermette are gifted winemakers in Beaujolais. Their Fleurie Poncié is located on a beautiful south-eastern slope with the granitic subsoil characteristic of Beaujolais. The vines, on average 35 years old, 100% Gamay, produce a beautiful red wine with finesse and optimal fruit. Bright red color and a strong fresh aroma with nuances of small red fruit. The taste sets in fresh, juicy and full; the development and aftertaste is balanced and fruity. Slightly chilled (14 degrees) together with “flappie” guaranteed tasty for Christmas Day. I skip my wine advice for Youp's Christmas dinner on Boxing Day……
