Strolling over the Vismarkt towards the Westerhaven, I take a delicious apple pie with me.
The idea is nice with coffee on Sunday morning….Breakfast will be a late brunch, so we postpone the apple pie to the afternoon.
Apple pie with coffee? It's much more fun to take the wine test with this delicious snack. Several bottles do not survive the test, but the big surprise comes from Massimo.
Massimo di Lenardo, wine producer in Friuli, Italy. His “recipe” fits in seamlessly with that of grandma's well-known snack. Pass the Cookies! is a sweet wine made from late harvested and partially dried Verduzzo grapes. After fermentation, the wine matures for 7 months in acacia wooden casks. Served cool and easy to keep for a few weeks after opening (but this wine often doesn't make it…..so tasty!).
Massimo does have a sense of humor because on his label he writes: IN MY NEXT LIFE, I'LL BE THIN. Wouldn't it be fantastic that I would soon see somewhere: Apple pie with a glass of PASS THE COOKIES € 4,50.
And according to my apple pie tasting team for the little ones: apple pie with apple juice!
Thanks to Emma Snaak for tasting the apple pie.
