A meal in the open air, informally seated on the grass in a spot in the great outdoors… I know where to find them.
We are especially attracted to picnics on summer days. A wicker basket full of tasty food and drinks*.
Picnic is derived from the French word pique – nique, composed of piquer meaning “to pick up” and nique meaning “little thing”.
* don't forget the wine in the basket. Preferably a light white wine from Alsace or the yesterday awarded rosé from Rimauresq.
During the 24th Thesis Wine Competition, three of our wines were chosen as Rosé of the Year. My personal favorite is really the one from Rimauresq.
Subtle aroma with a light spiciness and fine red fruit. Complex and mouth-filling in the taste, and persistent in the aftertaste. Very refined and balanced dry rosé.
…and when the bottle is empty, fall asleep wonderfully…sluggish but satisfied!
