Few female top chefs in the Netherlands
The number of female top chefs is on the rise worldwide, except in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands we currently have two chefs awarded a Michelin star, that is Marleen Brouwer from restaurant Young in Groningen and Margo Reuten from restaurant Da Vinci in Maasbracht. In total, 6,04% of the 2.286 Michelin-starred restaurants are led by a woman and 6,73% of the world's top 100 restaurants have a female chef. The United States and England score high with 7% & 6% female top chefs. Spain and Italy lead the way with 11% & 10% female chefs at the top respectively. Time to catch up in the Netherlands.
