The 27th edition of the Grachtenfestijn will take place on Sunday 28 and Monday 5 August, organized by Stichting Grachtenfestijn and Progress Events.
This year the farewell tour of the Trintella4green 1 of the highlights. These gentlemen will sail around the world in an energy-neutral way and recycle plastic on board. In addition to the necessary spectacle, a number of electric boats, solar boats and a hydrogen boat will also sail along. This year, the foundation will once again be organizing the 'Canal Parade' on Sunday afternoon, August 27, from 14 pm, in the theme Green / White. This year there is room for a maximum of 150 decorated green/white boats in the Groninger Diepenring. During the entire route there will be a flyboarder who will lead the procession with boats through the Diepenring. Together with several choirs, terraces open along the route and the parade is accompanied by the brass band.
Canal Parade
The Grachtenparade will take place on Sunday from 14:00 in the Zuiderhaven. The procession of boats will then enter the Hoge- and Lage der A and sail a round Diepenring. Once back in the Zuiderhaven around 15:50 you can enjoy DJ Arnoud who will perform. The prize for the best and most beautifully decorated boat will be awarded at 16:30 PM. Participants who still want to register can do so via info@grachtenfestijn.nl as long as there is still room.
Choirs / programming
The Grachtenfestijn Foundation encourages as much entertainment as possible and open terraces along the route. At the Ludina Terrace there is a large bouncy castle for the children and a jazz session led by Bert van Erk. A shanty choir will perform their repertoire on the jetty of canal cruise company Kool.
