After eight years, 'T Zwarte Schaap is back in the hands of owner Michel Zwart. “We are bringing the eatery back to the Schuitendiep.” The eatery goes back to basics but with more quality. Horecagroningen.nl visited and talked to the owner and his manager Roline van Dam.
“Eight years ago this property was already in our hands, then I thought it was beautiful. It was a good eatery with a large terrace and convenient location for the sun. Moreover, the company has been running well for ten years.” Calls Michel Zwart, just like van The Black Sheep also owns Louis XV en El Txoko† The company then passed to another owner; at that time, the building took on the shape of a restaurant.
In 2016 it will really be a diner again. The charms of the classic, dark interior with a large bar and cozy seats are emphasized again. But these will be supported in the future with innovative aspects such as a maturing cabinet for the meat, many new (special) beers and the characteristic Josper charcoal barbecue in the kitchen.
As expensive as you want
“We will also focus more on students,” says Roline van Dam, “besides the daily changing Shepherds bite, we now have the varying student bites for only €9,50.” There will also be a choice of fifteen beers on tap and no fewer than 50 beers in the bottle. The extensive choice of different wines and our food pairing suggestions are also a nice addition. “You can make it as expensive here as you want.”
Accessibility
Once every two months, the Vindicat band will transmit its swinging sounds here, but there will also be more frequent live music, including pop music, on weekends. “I like those kinds of ideas. I enjoy working with my team and we all want to keep innovating.” says Black. “The great thing about my people is that they are extremely hospitable, but in an informal way. That's how it should be for me here: it's the charm of the accessible eatery.” Roline and colleague Amir will run the business.
Future
The new kiosks are expected soon, as well as the maturing cabinet and the interesting glassware for beer and cocktails, which should give the guests spectacular ideas. The Hayloft will be refurbished and next year the terrace will be equipped with high tables with heaters. In spring and summer, you can also enjoy a fully catered boat trip through the canals of Groningen from the water.
Every day you are welcome for a nice drink, a weekly changing three-course menu (€23,50), a student snack, a Shepherd's bite or a party, reception or meeting in the Hooizolder. The Black Sheep is open every day from 15:00 PM to 22.30:XNUMX PM. For more information, see the website of Facebook page.
