In a weekend from beer room to webshop
When we heard about the measures in Belgium on Friday, we started thinking with our team about what to do if these measures also came our way. All kinds of ideas have been reviewed: painting the business, refurbishing the kitchen and broadening our beer knowledge are all things we will tackle in the coming weeks. But how can we contribute a little to solving the boredom for the people sitting at home? If our guests cannot come to the Suitcase, we will bring a piece of Suitcase to them!
Deliver "suitcase feeling" at home
We emphatically do not want to be an ordinary webshop for beer. We hope that we can give the people who would otherwise spend a pleasant afternoon or evening with us almost just as nice time at home. So we made the site ourselves and we also handle the orders completely ourselves. When we receive an order, one of our colleagues immediately jumps on his bike. In addition to the ordered beers and snacks, we also include beer mats, a candle, some nuts and even a pack of cards or dice, so that we bring as much of the “Suitcase feeling” as possible. This feeling can also be musically framed by the playlist of your favorite bartender/wife.
Delivery by bike
Because we do everything ourselves, we only deliver in the city of Groningen. Our colleagues jump on their bikes and will deliver the orders as soon as possible during opening hours. We will try to deliver the orders contactless, but hope that there is an opportunity - at an appropriate distance - for a nice chat with our guests who otherwise we might not speak for a few weeks. The aim is to be able to deliver all orders within one hour during opening hours (every day from 16:00 to 22:00). Not as fast as we would at the bar, but certainly fast enough for a last minute fun evening. The beers are already cold in our stock, so after the beers have recovered from cycling they are immediately drinkable.
