On Sunday 19 June 2016, the Grote Markt in Groningen will be converted into a square where art, culture, music and good food are central. During 'Art from the trunk', dozens of artists will showcase their talent from the trunk of a car.
On Sunday afternoon, no fewer than 65 regional artists are expected to exhibit their personal works from their car. Visitors have the opportunity to view the art up close and perhaps also to take it home at a reasonable price. The art on display will fall under different price ranges, from below €50 to above €1.000; something for every taste and budget.
Food trucks and singer-songwriters
Between strolling past the creative cars, you can get a snack and a drink at one of the food trucks. A terrace will be set up for the consuming visitor where music lovers are also welcome. Some Groningen singer-songwriter talents will perform and provide the event with atmospheric musical delights.

The idea of the event in an initiative of artist Stephen Beale. Maayke Glastra, Mireille Smits and Cornel van den Berg, three students of the Event Management minor offered by the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, knocked on the door of the Municipality of Groningen and came out inspired by this idea.
