Helping each other in difficult times
Johnnie Walker's actions follow a series of support measures that parent company Diageo launched to help the hospitality industry through this difficult time. Dan Hamilton, managing director for Diageo Northern Europe said: “200 years ago, when John Walker found himself in dire straits after the death of his father, his rural Scottish community gathered around him. Now, more than ever, it is vital to help those who have been with us for many years. What we're announcing today is a first step in our effort to support as many people in the business as possible. We recognize that, during this unprecedented crisis, many people in Belgium and the Netherlands will face extreme economic problems, including in the hospitality industry. We are determined to ensure that we can look forward to a positive future together.”
