The number of catering vacancies continues to grow and the labor market is becoming tighter. In our region alone, there are 850 open vacancies in the hospitality industry. Groninger catering entrepreneurs are therefore taking a joint initiative: De BaanBorrel. On March 18, the catering entrepreneurs want to get in touch with job seekers during the Baanborrel in a low-threshold environment.
No difficult application procedures, just a nice drink
Working in the hospitality industry revolves around motivation, competences and personality. This won't show up on an expensive resume or a complicated job interview. That is why the core of the Baanborrel is a pleasant meeting, where job seekers and employers come into contact with each other in an informal way.
wild cards
During the drinks, the participants can hand out a Wildcard to the catering company. With this Wildcard they show that they like to spend part of the day on the work floor. This way they can get to know each other better. The internship day serves as a direct replacement for the job interview. If there is a click after the walk, we will look together for a suitable job. The catering entrepreneurs also receive a Wildcard. The entrepreneur can use this to invite a jobseeker to join his/her team for an afternoon.
Do you fall in love with the hospitality industry?
Due to the great success of the previous Baanborrel, many more catering entrepreneurs have joined this edition, which means the opportunities are a lot greater. This Baanborrel is the immediate kick-off for a joint campaign with the slogan "Do you fall in love with the catering industry?" With this message, several Baanborrels will be organized this year. For example, the catering industry, in collaboration with Werk in Zicht, is trying to reduce the shortage on the labor market.
