On Thursday 25 June, more than 100 volunteers from Deli XL prayer vest 100 clients of Attent Care and Treatment on a trip to the Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem to take a journey through Dutch history. For the fifth year in a row, Bidvest Deli XL is joining forces with the National Fund for the Elderly to give a group of seniors a carefree day out.
Attentive Care Locations Tertzio in Elst and De Oude Plataan and Beverode in Dieren were approached this year for Bidvest Deli XL's Elderly Day. The clients of these centers often have to contend with physical limitations. The costs for an outing are therefore so high for care centers that it is not feasible to go out with residents for a day.
Attentive announces that it is pleased with the choice that Bidvest Deli XL has made to take residents of its care centers Tertzio, De Oude Plataan and Beverode for a day out to the Dutch Open Air Museum. “We are very happy with this invitation. Attent has chosen to invite its home care clients in addition to the residents of the aforementioned locations. This means that we can also do something for our home care clients. It will surely be a wonderful carefree day for people who can use it so well!” says Wim Timmer, Healthcare Manager at Tertzio.
Loneliness among the elderly is a major problem in the Netherlands. As many as a million elderly people are lonely. The National Fund for the Elderly therefore applauds that Bidvest Deli XL is organizing a nice day out for vulnerable elderly people for the fifth year in a row. “This is a really good example of Corporate Social Responsibility. Deli XL allows the elderly to enjoy a day. As far as we're concerned, many companies can follow this great initiative," says Monique Wolfkamp of the Nationaal Ouderenfonds.
For Bidvest Deli XL, the Elderly Day is one of the projects with which the organization implements the actual integration of CSR in daily business operations. This year, more than 100 employees volunteered to be a buddy for the elderly. Seniors can therefore be guided one-on-one, so that the Open Air Museum can be visited at your own pace. “Thanks to the enthusiasm of our employees and the pleasant cooperation with the National Fund for the Elderly, we can provide a large group of elderly people with an unforgettable day for the fifth time this year,” says Dick Slootweg, general manager at Bidvest Deli XL. ”This year we are going back in time together in the Dutch Open Air Museum.”
