The Faber family has been hospitable since the year 1901; The unique hotel with its rich history, located in Hoogezand, has been in the hands of the well-known Faber family for 115 years this year. That will be celebrated, from April 4, 2016 the hotel will hold some actions and organize festivities.
'Family Faber Versatile Hospitable', is the slogan of the family that has owned the hotel in Hoogezand since 1901. There is now talk of the fourth generation hotel owner in the same building, with this Faber dynasty the hotel is unique in the Netherlands.
History
Since 1726, the destination had been a lodging house 'for the traveling man'. The sleeping accommodation was on an important route to Germany. From 1763 the inn came into the hands of a collector and was given the name 'Het Posthuis'. The stagecoach came here regularly to change the horses.
In the middle of the 18e century, the destination was also given the function of 'Regthuis', after which court hearings were regularly held here. If a death sentence was imposed, the gallows stood a few meters away, near the prison cells in the barn. The inn's innkeeper got an additional function: that of jailer.
The famous Dutch writer Jacob van Lennep arrived in Hoogezand during his journey on foot with his companion Dirk van Hogendorp in 1823 and lodged in the inn, after which he wrote an article about it in his diary wrote.
The hotel became the cultural center for miles around due to the construction of the Faber theater hall, many famous Dutch people have stood on the stage and left their sweat behind. In addition, bowling has been practiced in this hall since 1904 and in 1912 it took the form of a cinema. Today it is a beautiful hall with a capacity of 250 theater places.
anniversary celebration
From April 4, the anniversary will be celebrated with a number of actions. The menu will again offer room for classics and toppers from the past. The hotel will hold a photo exhibition, vouchers will be available and the party will also be ensured by a number of activities, including an anniversary concert.

Located at 123 Meint Veningastraat, the hotel manages eighteen rooms in four different categories: budget, standard, comfort, Twinluxe comfort. It has an attractive café and restaurant and provides catering to your wishes. In addition, the hotel offers five rooms for weddings, receptions, parties, conferences, performances, courses and training.
